Hi guys. I have searched to forums trying to find a tread related to my issue so I apologize if this has been solved elsewhere and I just missed it. I recently purchased my E46 and love it, I just have one quip about the headlights. I have the bi-xenon hid's and when I have the light switch off(or auto during the day) they are on as well as my fog lights. It is my understanding that the inner halogen lamps should be used for DRL and not the HID's and fog lights. Could this just be a programming problem I could have the dealer fix or do you think I may have other issues? Everything works like it should once the lights are actually switched on.
That is odd, the daytime lights are the inside lights and you can program them off which I did on my e46. Your fog lights should be on as well unless you hit the fog light button. I cannot remember all of the programmable settings off the top of my head. I would check programming first before suspecting a bad light control module.
Thanks Charter. I'm gonna try to track down what I need to do it myself. Prefer to do things myself when I can.
Sure no problem. Correction on my post: your fog lights should be off unless turned on by the button in the car.

Got it figured out. I contacted previous owner (great guy) to see if maybe he had a cable I could use. Turns out when he upgraded from the business radio to the factory nav system it was just a setting in the radio under vehicle control. Left the fogs on as DRL for now but turned off the HIDs. There are a ton of settings in there I can play with.
