DSC and Wheel Spin - 320Ci

    Hi all,

One thing got me thinking tonight and I have to ask since I'm not the kind of guy that normally do wheel spins and that sort of stuff. I know from other cars such as Suzuki Swift or Fiat Panda how easy the car will spin the wheels if you are a little too fast during a red light.
Tonight the road was wet and during a red light I tried turning the DSC off and do a wheel spin a couple of times - it only resulting in a very bumpy spin both times, almost like the rear end was jumping and the DSC still was on - I doubt this jumpy ride is any good for the car.

I'm going to a wet track day in a couple of weeks where we have to drive with DSC turned off - so could anyting be wrong with the DSC - it felt like it was still turned on.. Or is it just my lack of experience in during spins.. ?

Did you turn it all the way off? Or just turned on DTC (warning triangle + DSC in yellow)? You have to push AND HOLD for several seconds to turn off DSC; single press turns on DTC.

^Ditto.Pretty much press and hold the dsc button for about 10secs or until the traction control light and the brake light illuminates yellow. Any particular reason why youd have to do a wet HPDE with traction control turned off?

I see. I didn't turn it all the way of. Thanks for the replies.
It sure felt different, I tried to do some wheel spins again today but the car still has some wheel hop. What could be causing this ?

Track day is probably not the correct word, sorry - I don't know what such an event will be called in english. But I'm going to a wet track in a couple of weeks to get some lessons in wet driving. If your particpate in such an event you can get a cheaper insurance where I live.

Probably just hitting a patch of dryer pavement, or pavement with different roughness.
