Hey everyone,
I'm looking to get a relatively inexpensive set of rims and snow tires but am a bit confused by offsets and whether or not they will fit! Used to just buy all seasons and am finally joining the summer/winter tire master race.
Right now I have the stock 403m's 19x8 ET36 and 19x8.5 ET47
I plan on getting the Michelin X-ICE X13 225/45/R18.
These are the rims I was looking at (Would like 18x8 on all four wheels). However, with an offset of just 29mm, does that mean the inner rim will sit closer to the car and potentially rub on the shocks? Or, will they stick out further from the wheel well? I would like to stay away from wheel spacers if possible.
Any help or recommendations is appreciated!

For the fronts, the wheel will stick out 7mm further, giving you 7mm more clearance between the wheel and the strut.
For the rears, the wheel will stick out 12mm further, giving you 24mm more clearance between the wheel and the strut (less wide width as well).
Thanks pDubs. I will look for a wheel with a larger offset then. Also, for a winter set up having a non-staggered set up is recommended, correct?
A 32 mm wheel is not going to stick out of your wheel well though. We do have higher offset wheels that are available for the BMW. 7mm is about 1/4" and 12 Is 1/2" so it is not much different. The narrower rear tire will actually then not go out the full 12mm because the tires are narrower than the factory rear tires.
If I can help with anything let me know.
If you are going to the 18" it will not matter. With the 19" you need the XL tires for load capacity. If you place the order online with Tire Rack just enter my name as a contact and I will review it and make sure everything is correct.
