    Flushing Heater Core

I am replacing all the coolant hoses, and I would like to flush the heater core. When I replace the coolant, I will use a 50-50 mix of BMW coolant and distilled water. If I flush the heater core with a hose and tap water then I will remove the old coolant, but the residual tap water will have minerals that I am trying avoid by using distilled water. I guess I can try air. Any other suggestions? Thanks

Be very careful using air, a 35 year old heater core is a delicate animal.
I wouldnt worry so much about a small amount of minerals from tap water, with the coolant and distilled water mix, corrosion won't be an issue.
