Sounds unfortunate. Is it attributable to your latest round of mods? Butters and I think that about 500 rwhp and off the strip is the most happy place to be when turbocharging these cars. Much more than 500 rwhp or dragstrip use takes money and time and compromise.

My car runs great. But I'm never happy with the power it's making. My trap says I'm making 650-675whp and I really want 750-800now.

It's just ridiculous. 650whp shouldn't feel mundane. It should scare the living shit out of you, but it doesn't any more.

I'm getting to the point where I'm chasing my tail. As soon as I make a big upgrade and make more power I feel like I'm already craving more and am never actually satisfied.

I also miss the days of being able to drive my car on a weekend road trip and be able to beat on it the whole time and not worry about it. Or plan a route with e85. Or worry about getting caught in the rain with drag radials. It's gotten totally impractical. I bring it out a couple times a week to race but I'm no longer driving it like I used to.

rajicase, if youre really just chasing that adrenaline high, and really cheap, power to weight, scare the pants off you, raw power is what you're after - buy a bike.

So did you run over the piston or not?

Compression is still 165 in that cylinder so it's fine lol. Motor is healthy and car runs as good as ever

Buddy I had a bike, and I work in the neuro icu at a level 1 trauma center, I take care of patients every day who are brain dead, paralyzed from the neck down, who function at the level of a two year old, all because of a traumatic brain injury from riding a bike.

I know everyone says it won't happen to them, but seeing people younger than me (I'm 23) on a regular basis who are paralyzed fom the neck down, who will live the rest of their short life on a ventilator and be fed through a tube, only to die from some bullshit infection.... I'll say it's moving. I had every intention of getting a bike, but not any more. No way.

I stopped snowmobiling because I was going to hurt myself. Same reason I never got a bike. Going 160 on the street makes me wish I had a 25.5 cage.

Yeah, knowing myself I'd have a 1000cc bike and be out racing every weekend. Only a matter of time; hate to say it but people that ride like me end up dead or really fucked up. It's a matter of time, I see it way too often and I personally know people that have been killed or seriously fucked up.

I had a cbr600rr and hooned the shit out of it. Got run off the road by f250 and shattered my wrist, got several screws and limited ROM in my right wrist. Lucky it's not worse though.

The thing about the bike is the faster you go, the more stable it becomes due to the gyroscopic forces of the wheels.

    It's different somehow.

Speed on bikes isn't the problem, it's the pebble or any other insignificant debris on the highway that will make you fly 2 states over before being disemboweled that gets me.

I topped my cbr600rr out. In addition to what jaze said, your reaction time is decreased the faster you go, you can't account for the other drivers on the road, etc.

I once hit a piece of metal that fell of a truck in my m3 cause I was going too fast to avoid it. It tore up my 3.5" exhaust. But I still drove home. If I had hit that on a bike, I would have left in a body bag.

I loved my bike. It was a blast. But I've seen and taken care of way too many vegetables that were just like me before they crashed their bike; happy & healthy..

There was a member here a few years ago with a supercharged 328i with band controls and a built auto trans. He had been hit on his bike by a cop speeding. He did not even get a settlement.

mile events? can go back to tires you can drive on daily.

or grab a busa, turbo it, extend it, drag race that instead of the m3
