Hi I have a 1993 525i E34 M50B25 engine. can i replace my 402 with a 413 DME and will it work?

No, you can't do that. 402 is Motronic 3.1, 413 is Motronic 3.3. 402 can be replaced with 403 and 405, maybe some others, but they have to be Motronic 3.1.
