Hi,
So I was (un)lucky to read my DME using DIS and got the following fault codes:
13 Oxygen sensor 1
22 Advance valve, VANOS exhaust
36 Tank venting valve
41 Mass air flow sensor
53 Electricfan relay
77 temperature sensor for intake air
80 Switch for gear recognition
The same codes re-appear after they've been cleared, so it means that there are some current issues with the engine and needs repairing.
Has anyone of you seen these and what has been done? Maybe some of them are related and once one bit done, other faults will disappear as well?
The engine runs rough on idle, but when warmed up. Sometimes engine just shuts after long drive and going from 5th or 6th gear to idle while rolling. Needs restarting the engine while moving in neutral.
What I have done so far: replaced spark plugs, but old ones looked pretty good. Replaced front O2 sensors with used ones, but that haven't made any difference.
Any help much appreciated.
36 and 77 could be related. IIRC, those are the same plugs, so it's very easy to hook them up backwards. Given how many codes you have from wires going through that area, I'd want to pull the manifold and inspect.
If the VANOS code instantly reappears, check the plugs up front. DO NOT reinstall the cosmetic cover while trying to diagnose this. My experience with it is that it can torque the holder and cause connectors to come loose.
