Make sure you take a video!

Also, I know everyone uses the z3m radiator. But is it possible to use my e36 m3 radiator?

Mine is brand new last year and it's a pretty mild climate where I live, we see average 70f in the summer ...

I did notice the e46 m3 uses a bleeder screw on the upper rad hose, is that necessary? Or can it still be bled with the e46 overflow tank, e36 rad hoses and e36 m3 radiator?

yeah you can use it.. im using an E36 M3 Mishimoto radiator. not sure about the upper hose.. i know you can use the E36 lower hose.. they are almost the same

hey also, where is everyone putting the E36 M3 coolant sensor? i was thinking about using the lower radiator hose with an inline adaptor

yup I'm on my standard e36 Behr rad. re-used my upper rad hose without modification, the lower works too, but needs trimmed.

For the coolant sensor, I believe Gpeterson used the E36 in the stock E46 location, he explained it in my thread. I used a Techna-motor sports adapter right off the Thermostat housing so I have both E46 and E36 sensors installed.

yeah i left the E46 sensor in its sock location but when i was assembling my motor i could not get a technica adapter, they were always on back order... dont want to break down all that to install the adapter now...

It depends if and when gpeterson will finish with the cluster board. I am using the E36 sensor which is a 4 wire sensor, you would have to run 2 wires to DME and the other 2 to the X20. And when the E46M cluster is used then you would have to put the E46M 2 wire sensor back

So I think what Goeterson was saying was to use a 4 wire (dual output) sensor(M52/S52) in the E46M location and grab the signals from that. Check Post #5 in my thread.

Appears you’ll have to unpin either the Z3m connection and repin it to Andrews, or the other way around. Preference is yours there.

Yes dual output, 2 wire goes toDME, and the other wires 2 will go to the E36 cluster

Than you're good, install it and add the E36 sensor to that, keep E46 in place. brokeazz covered it

Also what have you guys done for exhaust? Currently I have the following parts that I was hoping could be made to work.

    -euro catless headers
    -e46 m3 section 1, section 2
    -AA catback exhaust
-also have the original catted section from the s52

    Or if not:

Does anyone know if Bimmer world's Y pipe to Active Autowerk section B to my active Autowerk exhaust will work?

Do E46 headers, sec 1 and sec 2 stock. At the end of sec 2 weld this on with some tips of your choice MUFFLER.

Only modifications needed are the sec 2 hanger bracket needs moved about 6 inches to meet with E36 body mount location and the last 2mm of lip need removed from the rear of Sec2 pipes so they slide inside the OBX muffler. PAGE 4 of my thread has a ton of photos

For those who didn't use z3m or is it euro m3 drivers side motor mount arm? How are you fabricating a mount to support the intake manifold? I'm using stock e36 m3 mounting arms and trying to think of something... Does anyone have a picture of a mount they fabricated?
