I have a 2002 X5 4.6is with around 108k miles and for some time now since I took the car to the shop to change the wheel bearings I have this odd problem that I cant figure out. I changed the front wheel speed sensors but problem still persists.
When driving around 40-50mph or 65-80mph (mostly) on the freeway, the DSC light will flash and traction control will kick in. This usually happens when driving more uphill with some throttle. The computer thinks the car is slipping and cuts power or applies the brakes. When I turn DSC off, the computer will actually apply the brakes to either front side causing the car to slow down for a half second.
After running a scan, the following codes popped up:
-BD | Electronic Brake Balance (EBV)
-97 | Steering Angel Adjustment Faulty
-And some others but it think these could be the only relevant ones.
Any thoughts on what it could be?
Tires are the same size all around or factory sizes? Fully inflated?

Whenever $hit happens right after something's been worked on, that work is usually the culprit. Cut wire, misaligned sensor etc...

Yes, stock tire sizes
I would look into resetting the steering angle sensor
I don't have an X5, but I do have a 2001 M Coupe that had a similar issue... suddenly the ABS/traction control would kick in on a single wheel. Quite unsettling if you're at highway speeds.
The culprit in my case was a faulty yaw sensor, but I do believe the fault code was related to the steering angle sensor. (It's been some time so I can't recall the details.)
Depending on what software package you are using you can read a live read out of the yaw sensor. While the car was sitting still the yaw sensor would read wild outputs.
At the time the sensor was quite expensive, but I found one on ebay for about half the price.
Sometimes the individual ABS wheel sensors go bad, so go that route if the event is isolated to a particular wheel.
