That's the thing though, it will dyno 100 hp less but that's 100 less hp the chassis and tires have to deal with so you don't have as much traction problems. It's just going to be smooth power the whole way down. In theory you would think an auto would be slower on the big end but I've personally never seen a car trap slower going from a stick to an auto unless it only has 300 hp. Power glides usually trap a couple mph faster than a 400. A powerglide with a lockup converter even faster yet. A Lenco would probably be the fastest thing in a roll race. Foot to the floor the whole way and no converter.

    best time 9.06 @ 151.8 mph, best 60 foot 1.30

That's is what your competing for in roll racing isn't it, fastest mph? If it is ET a powerglide will win every single time.

Might actually be pretty cool, I've got 6262 and 6766 data now that I think about it. Not sure exactly how to compare and represent it since acceleration rates are going to be pretty different but it's not my first rodeo.

I should have before and after the no lift shifting for both 6262 and 6766. We should be able to give a good representation of big vs little turbo time to torque on gear changes.

Sucks that I'm not very quick at shifting.

If you PM me your email I can send you the install instructions I made to give you an idea of how it goes together. I will try to post some pictures later, there are a bunch in Dburts thread.

Its easy, just go sit in a tree for a week with a gun when its 2 degrees outside and wait for one to happen by.

Just thinking....if you had the slope of rpm/torque for a motor on auto with output torque you could see losses and calculate rms slope for the combo. Then side by side it with same rms calculation with manual. Side benefit would be the ability to calculate what would happen with any combination with a dyno run on a manual. At least for the slope calculated for that specific auto.

Once you guys realize your cars are only useful in a straight line anyways, then coming to terms with just embracing that is alot easier and the decision to go auto starts to make more sense.

For example, heres my car going 126 to the 660ft.

I agree, assuming you have compromised the handling of your car, and if you are jacked up in the back rolling on 275/50/15 marshmallow drag tires, you have. I jacked up on 275/40/17 drag radials and feel like I have compromised the handling significantly and am planning on lowering the car and running 275/40/17 r compound track tires rather than drag tires, with flares to accommodate the width. If my only interest was going fast in a straight line, I would probably do the 1960s 3 speed auto conversion. I am not ready to go there yet. Maybe I will get there -- I don't know, but after a few years of poor handling, I want to try better handling again and am working on that now ( flares, new rack, new tires).

The only thing that can make me hate you less is if you send me half of your haul (nicely butchered of course).
