The yoke. I was assuming this was a yoke from another application that you were having machined to fit on a BMW diff correct? Is this something your planning on making to sell? It would seam there is a demand for it.

The flange is located within the BMW flange using a male pilot and also has a female pilot for the spicer yoke. I am in MN, twin cities area (though currently out of town until next Sunday) and can lend it to you to copy. I used this with an E34 M5 diff in my LS E39.

That would be great, who made that and is it still availible? The two designs I am thinking about would be an alluminum adapter just like that to mount a spicer flange yoke, and I was also thinking of making a steel flange to bolt to the diff with a female pilot on the front and welding a 3" x 1350 driveshaft yoke on it to make a 1 piece yoke. Das Boost sent me a picture of the one he has that is made this way. I'm leaning toward the aluminum adapter since I can just get that cnc'd and not rely on my labor so much, but I think it would be more expensive.

As long as there is a solution for the community that is all I am after.

A local machinist made it for me and yes, I still have it. I just supplied him with the BMW flange, the spicer yoke, and the tolerances including max runout.

I'm not trying to hold on to any secret, I just haven't made it on to this forum. Once I found this I moved on to my bigger project knowing i had a workaround for the rear of the driveshaft. The rest of the driveshaft is dodge truck which happens to have the same size inner bearing diameter as the BMW allowing a factory center support bearing. This all plugs into a 7260 standard mopar flange on the rear of my 727 trans with adapter to m62.
As far as the yoke goes, I could have the work done and sell them, but most people here are talented enough to modify it themselves. My buddies shop has an end mill large enough to spotface that surface in 1 op. And quantity does cost less.
All it needs is is the total yoke length at the nut surface shortened to match the bmw pinion by milling the nut face down. And a slight chamfer on the spline to match the bmw.20180106_143754.jpg
The dust shield for the seal can be eliminated, or trimmed as the seal rides on it like a repair sleeve. With sheild, the sear inner diameter is almost the same, or back to the seal catalog for something else.

My m62 project is my total focus right now, to be on here soon.

Hey, my friend. We both know most of this info would be usless over there.
When they start breaking stock parts, they can come over here for it.
But then they probably already would be.

Is there an issue with the jagsthatrun adapter? I used one on my friends e36 that we ls swapped and it seemed like a pretty nice piece for the money.

Edit: I suppose a lot of you are probably looking to use a 1350 joint.

What is a good torque converter to use with the TH400 and your adapter plate ?
I was looking at the FTI performance one to use,any feedback on them here ?

Ideally your going to want to get one built to your specs. ATI, FTI, PTC, Coan, Protorque, Ultimate Converter Concepts would all be companies that I would consider that have a good reputation for turbo converters. There has been a huge amount of technological advancement in converters in the last 10 years mainly focused around making converters to work efficiently with turbo cars. For a custom 9.5" steel converter from most of the above companies expect to pay about $800-$1000. This usually comes with a 12 month guarantee that they will get it right for your setup. You tell them everything about your setup and they build one for you. If its too tight or too loose you send it in and they restall it and send it back for free. I am getting a billet bolt together converter from ProTorque. I am sold on them from watching what there stuff does with 2JZ's. I watched very closely a couple 2jz's with there converters this summer and was totally blown away with how fast they were able to get on the converter and spool on the line and how well they locked up going down the track. A good modern converter today should be able to stall at 5000 rpms, and still have less than 5% slip at 7000 rpms with 1500 hp. I've seen some turbo cars that are claiming 2% slip with 2500 hp.

You could try ordering an off the shelf converter from Jegs or Summit racing but they were not built with turbo powerband in mind so I don't know how they will react. I have a TCI 9.5" nitrous converter I bought off someone local for $200 just to have something to mock up all my stuff so I may give that a try at lower power depending on when I get my custom converter built.

Yes I'm getting the gen X aluminum bolt together. When I talked to them a welded steel gen X was 2000, a steel bolt together was 2250 and an aluminum bolt together was 2500. They are definitely pricey but I've seen them work and I see it as a long term investment as they will be able to rebuild it for whatever I do in the future. I spec'd all the parts for my trans for 1500-1800 hp for the same reason. I better get some better insurance on this POS lol.

For anyone else who has a 4-bolt diff flange, I can verify that the Jags That Run flange is still available, and is a PERFECT fit. So good it almost seems like it was worth the money, lol.

I don't believe the sonnax 6 bolt adapter I posted will work. But I ordered it anyways and will get it turned on a lathe to fit. I believe ID of the flange is 3.9" while the adapter is 4.25".
