Fuel smell from underneath right (passenger) side 1991 850i

Does anybody have a quick idea to check? No puddles or drops. Exhaust pipes are corroded/rusted BUT I think this is more of a raw gas smell, not exhaust.
    Thanks,
    Tom

Fuel line and return line from canister run along the passenger side of the firewall and return line back to fuel tank.

Also check the actual charcoal canister. If it’s never been replaced, then it’s likely completely shot. It’s right under the windshield washer tank so fluid inevitably drips right down on it and causes corrosion.

Pull the right rear passenger seat, open inspection cover and look at the top of the pump carrier. If you see signs of fuel, either your hoses are bad or the carrier is cracked.
