Sorry if I sound naive. Saw a commercial where a BMW was being driven in the off-road. I don't even think it was an X3 or X5 but a sedan. I've only owned a E46 and an E93. I cringe hard when I go over a pot hole or a speed bump too fast. I've seen BMW's on the track but does anyone drive a BMW in the off-road?
Wow. I stand schooled. The suspension was killer. The camera and the passenger holding notes weren't even shaking!
During my recent vacation I drove about 40km through a rather bad "road" with my E60.
It was hella fun, however, I got new shock absorbers in the front last week.
Wouldn't know of any connection there
They were 150k miles old though, so I actually can't say this road was at fault.
You can drive almost anything off road as long as your tires are in good shape. If you're on stock tires (like a 45 aspect ratio for example), ride height, etc., you're probably limited to unpaved forest service type roads. Even those can get pretty rough though and you'll probably want a truck.

Lol took my x5 4.6is on some gravel roads yesterday and it was not pleasant. Mind you the is gets the huge tires which definitely didnt help but it was not a great experience. Smooth gravel rally course may be ok but bmws are not meant to offroad
