Exclamation Cruise Control Malfunction/ Drive System Control Malfunction/ Reduced Engine Power

Hey everyone, I'm a newb so don't bash me too much lol but I have a 2004 BMW 530i automatic with about 120 on the dash. I noticed that while starting to drive from a standstill on an incline between gear 2-3-4 the car will not switch gears until Rpms are near 4,000 rpm the car doesn't accelerate pass 25 mph the car doesn't go faster but th rpm will keep ramping up ,so you can imagine the people behind me are pissed. After getting to a flat surface driving conditions usually return to normal.

Also while driving sometimes on an incline (although it has happened on a flat surface) I'll get a Cruise Control,Drive System Control and Engine Power Reduced notification. After I pull over turn the car off for a couple minutes everything is back to normal. After looking online I narrowed it down to maybe the CCV or DISA Valve... any help would be appreciated!!!

Yeah, you'd need to read BMW-specific codes. Do you have an OBD adapter? Any standard Bluetooth or WiFi ELM327 will work, along with the Carista app (it's an app that I made, PM me for free beta access... because the BMW-specific diagnostics for your car are still in beta, probably until next week).

Clearly you need to take it to a professional.

I thought the purpose of these forums was to avoid an unnecessary trip or unnecessary cost of a dealer but ok thanks for that information!!

Now to anybody out there whose actually looking to help it would be greatly appreciated!

I'm willing to help but you're not giving nearly enough information. You just posted a list of codes. I don't have any clue what those codes mean. If you want help on this forum, you have to be willing to help yourself. What have you done to the car? Have you checked this, checked that, etc. Define the codes for us. Are they misfire codes? Have you changed coils or plugs? Have you done any searching on this forum for anyone having similar issues.

Don't just post codes and expect us to tell you what to do. That's why I said you need to take it to someone who knows their way around cars.

And generic P codes suck. Everyone on here will tell you that you need a real BMW specific scan tool.
