Not clear on exactly how you removed the old oil from the reservoir, but I'm guessing you simply squeezed the shampoo bottle then stuck it into the reservoir via the hose and sucked out a bit at a time...

I think he jury-rigged a plastic spray bottle pump onto the plastic hose and pumped it out. You could also use a fluid extractor, such as a Mityvac, which would be faster. But like he said, with this process, you'll have to do it a few times to get all the old fluid out.

Which reminds me; I tried using my Mityvac to pull liquid from a tank and couldn't. It almost seems like the little plastic reservoir attachment isn't sealing well against the lid.
Anything I'm missing here?
