Hi there, I just recently purchased a 1984 745i. The grey market turbo e23 has been on my BMW bucket list for a long time and I got a good deal on it so here I am. I have just got my dash back in after fixing the vacuum HVAC system and getting my A/C working, and I am currently doing all the maintenance that was much needed such as a valve adjustment, all new vacuum lines, fuel lines, filters, cleaning the fuel injectors etc....
I would like to start modifying the m106 to make more power but I am not having an easy time finding parts here in the states for it. I need the ECU chips to allow for more boost, I am looking to run around 10-12 psi, I know there was people modifying the stock wastegates years ago but I don't know if they are still around doing so ? I will be getting a RRFPR and a wideband and boost gauge, is there anything else needed for that range of boost ? Any info or would be greatly appreciated.

I recently bought a sharknose motronic 745i that needs a lot of work and started down the same rabbit hole of restoration and to increase the power. The folks at TCD make a chip if your ECU has one eprom...some have 2 or 4. The folks in Finland make a chip as well but I haven't placed the order for it yet. I am looking into a .7 bar spring to replace in the stock waste gate in hopes of keeping the knock protection system somewhat in tact but I am new to this car and still learning.

Yes, I make a drop in Tial conversion. Stock base and stock valve, all Tial F38 on top...fully rebuildable, fully adjustable, ALL OEM Tial on top. Two have been sold just prior to Harvey. Bases are ready, I need to hone the valve guides and have them ceramic coated. Once that is finished, they will be ready to sell. There is a core fee on top of charge for this wastegate, I need your working (or free) wastegate in return. LJ ran it on his car for about six months all over CA to all sorts of meets, he loved it at 0.9 bar.
Also chips. All -013 revisions. Single PROM in stock, dual PROM in stock, some four PROM in stock. There are five different four PROM boards, I am having the others burned as we speak. So I cover all revisions, also may have resurrected a dead -013 box that would not start a car.

At 10-12psi a headgasket will also be in your future if your afr's aren't spot on & you experience detonation.
