    Replacement Rear Speakers E36 M3?

the larger speakers in the rear are shot and I need to get them replaced. What would a good replacement on the cheap be?

    Hi,

There's many threads here and on all the other BMW forums about replacement speakers for the E36. You'll need to investigate which of those suits you. There's differences if you have the OEM audio setup and wish to keep it, and different solutions if you have an aftermarket head unit or one that's being used with external amplifiers.

    Cheers, Dennis!

Go to www.crutchfield.com to see what fits. Then check out one of the automotive audio forums to see which speakers people are talking about.

The only problem with Crutchfield and rear speakers is that they say 6x9's do not fit. If you have the HK system, the car is fitted with 6x9 and an adapter, other E36 will have a 4" component system. You can buy 6x9 adapters on eBay and Amazon, but I can't say how well they fit. 6x9 are going to sound way better than a 4" component speaker that Crutchfield says will fit. I'm surprised Crutchfield does not carry an adapter.
