As I bring my 94 840 back to life, I can check off fixing the wipers. The problem was that the wipers were not parking in the off position. Two part fix; lubed the linkage as outlined on Tim’s site and replaced the missing o ring on the cam assemble. The cam is a three part machined part with an o ring. This part had split. Dealer wanted $140 for the complete assemble, nonsense. Local parts store gave the the o ring for free.
A few tips upon reassemble:
-place the large part of the assembly on the wiper motor first
-place the spring on the bottom cam securing arm
-long needle nose placed the washer
-ratcheting open end with gorilla tape over the top secures the nut and allows it to be racheted into place
-after a few turns of the nut, install the other side of the spring
-tighten to finish install the cam
-place linkage back in position and install c clip
-neosporin to treat scraped hands, it’s small in there!
-a flexible magnet was very helpful the first few times I removed and reassembled.
Wipers now park. On to the PVC and other fixes.
Cheers,
Greg

Gregsgroup: What exactly were the symptoms? Normal operation except for moving up instead of down when parking?
Good evening:
KiwiCSI; I’m traveling for work but will take a few photos over the weekend.
Revtor; the wipers would not park in the off position but stop and come up about 15 degrees. They worked normally at speed. Replacing the o ring restored the park function.
