So I've been blessed with a DSP system that the PO has made inoperable through cutting of wires and added an amplifier. Now I"m not really too upset by this, I just now have to run an aftermarket amplifier in order to hear anything. Not a huge deal, it came with one. And yes I have an aftermarket Pioneer stereo installed.
Now my question is the speakers in general. I believe the woofers in the kick panels have been replaced because well they hit hard. I just wish I could turn them down other than transferring the sound to rear speakers. Yes I know that sounds weird but let me finish.
Currently the system has a 1000w 4 channel amp providing power to all the speakers other than the mid ranges behind the seats (they aren't hooked up at all). The front woofer and rear woofers are on the front channel and the rest are on the rear. Yes I know it's ass backwards and all sorts of WTF is going on.
My end goal is to get everything back to sounding good and normal.
So back to topic, are there replacements for the door speakers other than BAVSound? Are later model speakers adaptable to the doors? Could the handle more wattage?

Take a look at the link below. It's a really convenient configurator where you plug in your make/model and it'll tell you exactly what will work in your car.

Yea they only list tweeters on their site. Think after some searching I've found that a lot of BMWs use the same 4" sized speakers in the doors.
