    Suggestion on 98 M3 Convertible Suspension Coil/shock/strut

My 98 M3 Convertible with 335k miles needs new shocks and struts - i still have the original coils on the car. My research leads me to the conclusion that coils/springs are recommended to be replaced in 100k miles -- i'm way over that. I'm in SC, so don't have winter weather wear on the car, so they've held up. I figure since i need to replace the shock and struts, i should do the coils/springs also. A quick search shows that springs alone will be about $600 - anyone found a good cost effective place to look?

Sachs seems to be the normal shock/strut recommendation for a daily driver. I don't feel like I need anything special. Any recommendations on looking at Coil Over as more cost effective than buying all the individual components?

Or just replace the components to be like OEM?? (around $1200-1300 in parts).

Hello Chris and welcome to the forum! I'm including a link to our parts catalog for your 98' M3, if you're just going to be keeping everything stock; take a look at the H&R Springs and Bilstein shocks - that would be a great setup. If you're looking for a bit more performance, I would consider the ST Suspension coil-overs - it's the sister company of KW and since you don't have winter rust will not be an issue for you. Please let us know if you have any questions or feel free to give us a call at 888-280-7799 and one of our BMW parts specialists will be happy to help you out.

Thanks for the suggestion. Anyone with a similar vehicle that can give input on their spring/ shock choices a year or more after they installed? I'm a bit concerned about lowering my M3 and bottoming out on bumps/ potholes/ bridges that i go over fine today.
