Ok while I have my wife's Z on the lift for the brake job I figure I'll replace the Oxygen Sensors too. The cars just over 100K so from what I have read that is the time. Not crazy about dropping the coin on 4 of these, but I guess it's time.
So I have read in other forums based on other vehicles that the Oxygen sensors are very sensitive to having the "correct" ones in the system. I see that of course the BMW sensors are twice the price. So that's out of the question. But Bosch is an OEM supplier, and NTK seems to be a good manufacturer.
I'm thinking of the Bosch from RockAuto. They say that they are "Actual original equipment" parts. I can save over $100.00 by ordering from them, in my world that is significant. But not worth the savings if they are going to cause more trouble than the savings.
So what is the word on Oxygen sensors in the Z4?
In my search I did find one who simply went to Autozone and bought a replacement for one, installed and moved on. He mentioned the price and it was much less than even the ones I'm considering. So maybe they aren't that big of a concern IDK?
I would go with the Bosch OEM ones, they're quality and will not give you any issues going forward. I've also included a link to our site's DIY tech articles where we have the procedure to replace the o2 sensors on your Z4 and our parts catalog; please let us know if you have any questions!
