LSD affordable for my e46 m3 and ls3 motor called bmvet

What’s a good lsd and ratio? Also an affordable one that would work on my BMW e46 m3? My rear end is stock matched to a ls3 motor. Who can help me with what’s a good ratio or lsd spec and also a reasonable price? Thanks for any help in advance.

He's from the Philippines. English is probably not his first language. Although punctuation would be nice.

I see 3.9 to 4.10 ratios in most LS cars with the T56 transmission. You want to match your differential to your transmission.

I don't know what would be affordable to you. Try diffsonline.com? thayer does lsd builds I think.

there's really nothing "affordable". Thayer quoted me almost 4k to build a 210mm diff. OS GIKEN LSDs seem to be the standard, but they aren't cheap.

What are you using the car for? It's much cheaper just to build a welded.

I still can't believe nobody has made a cheap torsen for these cars. I can buy 10 bolt, dana 30 and dana 44 Detroit TrueTracs for like $475-$525. Someone needs to walk over to the Eaton booth at SEMA and talk some sense into those guys.

Well if you aren't set on LSD, you can pretty easily remove the OEM LSD and convert the diff to being weldable, then weld it. Probably not the best for hill climb though. I don't remember what models you need to take parts from, but it's decently documented in my build thread. Otherwise it's like $2100 for an OS Giken, and if you want to change ratio it's like $1100 for a BMW Motorsport gearset.
