What are you running for a tune? Your tuner will suggest injectors. For a 450-500hp setup the consensus is usually 60lb siemens/dekas.

Unless you are tuning yourself then you need to figure this out with your tuner.
If pump gas is the plan, 60lb will suffice. If e85 80lb. But figure out what your tuner wants you to run.

I got a tune up for sale kind of. TRM 60lb obd2 setup for lowered compression. Will support 500whp easily.

I would not run 22 psi from an HTA3586 on an S52 with a Walbro 255LPH even if the pump is rewired. I think its flow at 75 psi (51 psi base plus 20 psi plus a little restriction through the line) is questionable for the guesstimated 625-650 rwhp you should make if everything is sorted out. I would feel better with a voltage booster or a 320LPH pump for that power. You can find the flow vs fuel pressure vs volts charts online. Nothing like running out of fuel during a top speed run -- happened to me in 2009.

Agreed, in real life things aren't always matching what "on paper". I ran into this situation with an aeromotive 340 at the strip. My lean alarm was going off when I decided to turn the boost up a hair. I looked at the data logs, and found FP was dropping off up top cause the pump couldn't keep up. My was running at a constant 14V via BAP. So I cranked it up to 15V and finished the night of racing. Next day I ordered a walbro 450/485 (one of those) and was done with it.

Many of us thought we wanted only 450-500 whp and eventually wanted more. If I was you I would go straight to the 80 lb injectors and tune unless you have e85 in you area then it would be the 115 lb injectors and e85 tune. It sucks to here about people that are risking popping their engines or can’t turn up the boost because they have run out of injector (or pump or lines etc).

The smart ones stayed at 500-550. The fools got greedy and went for 650+. 90% of the 650+ whp greedy ones, don't even use the power in any type of racing applications except for a "here and there" quick 3 second pull in 4th or 5th gear, as they only added mass amounts of power and there car can't grip anything under 4th gear. Sometimes 5th.

    So, there's that.

    Greedy, yes.
    Foolish, perhaps.
    Financial mistake, 100%.

But when my pile is running I'm out racing at least once a week, sometimes twice.
And my shit dead hooks in 2nd, brake boosting, with the drag radials.

In fact I couldn't be happier with my car at its current power level; if it would stop breaking. But when it's running I love it. Just need to get everything bullet proof.

I am just going off what Matutino had it dyno tuned at..He spent 6 hours on the dyno setting both settings on the AEM. Doubtful that he would have beat on it for 6 hours If there was a fueling issue...Hell, I haven't even run the high boost setting yet. There is no reason as I have no traction...

As long as you are comfortable.

Its too close for me. I would expect an HTA3586R to make about 650 rwhp at 22 psi which is about 750 crank hp, given that I made 607 rwhp at 21 psi with a GT3582R. A Walbro 255 LPH HP is probably flowing about 55 GPH or 210 LPH or 340 LBS/HR at 75 fuel pressure with 13.5-14V input. If the turbo S52 is very efficient and uses a BSFC of just 0.45, the math just works. I think the S52 might be that efficient, but there is no safety margin. It may not be a limitation you will bump up against not be the kind of thing you experience in daily driving with a brief pull here and there in the lower gears. Might take more like a full throttle half mile or top speed run. The dyno may not be really beating on the car. If it is a dyno jet in 4th gear, you probably load more on the street in a 4th gear run to redline. The load in 5th, with the aero drag and no gear multiplication, is even greater.

Good points..Do you think the fact that it's an S50 makes any difference? Minute, I'm sure.. What would be the next logical step if I was going to change it? and would I have to re-tune? I am not a Dyno Junkie and am past the part of life where I constantly have to out-dingus my friends, but I would like it to be safe if I take it down to one of the Half-Mile races that are happening all around me it seems...I just cant seem to find anywhere to get a good pull in. Where I am here in Savannah is super congested...I tried to get some data last week at 17-18lbs and I ended up doing a rolling burnout at 70mph in 3rd, shifted to 4th and spun some more...I have decided to hold off until tires and a warm day shows up...

Either a voltage booster like kenne bell or jms or a bigger pump like a 320 or 400 or 485. Bigger pump is probably cheaper than a voltage booster. I don't think you need to worry if you keep the boost to 17-18 but it's something to think about if you plan to go higher. Matt probably rewired the pump with a relay to the battery, which helps a little.

Would an Aeromotive or HFP 340 be enough?

Sorry to Jack the OP's thread, by the way....

Does the car really only have a 255 in it? I’m surprised if that’s the case. When I was around the 550 whp mark and shooting for more that was when I was finding that the fuel pressure datalogs were showing a drop in fuel pressure up top.i installed a Walbro 400 then the pressure was too high, then I installed an Aeromotive FPR, then I needed to install 3/8” feed and return lines to finally get full control of the fuel pressure from idle to WOT. It’s a bit of work but now it is a non issue.

A 255 may be working for you right now but two things will happen, one, you will want to turn up the boost, and two, the pump will start to get weaker over time.

If you are still on the Michellin Pilot Super Sports then that is your traction issue. They are not a very sticky tire meant for much lower performance cars and drivers doing daily driving, not for trying to get 650 whp to the ground. If you put a set of Nitto NT-01’s on there you will be blown away compared to the PSS’s.

According to Matt it has a 255 Wally and 60lb injectors. I’m not sure I’d ever want to turn up the boost. I’ve got a regulator mounted up front. What would the next step up be?

Tires should be here soon. Still waffling on RS4’s or Re71’s.

Some get lucky with the Walbro 400 and stock lines, I didn’t. That car has a Zeitronix datalogger doesn’t it? If so, you can log fuel pressure to see if it’s holding steady after the upgrade.

FYI, ‘they’ don’t recommend using liquid filled gauges under the hood as they can be inaccurate with temperature change unless they are ‘burped’. I drained all the fluid from mine and pulled the rubber cap off so the pressure in the gauge is always ambient.

I just put the RE71s on my car. I got about 50 miles on them so far. They were just starting to feel better and the weather crapped out so I probably won’t really know what they are like until next spring now.

I have a 450 on mine with stock sized lines running E85 making 650-675 whp (estimated off a trap speed of 136mph)

Have you confirmed that the fuel pressure does not drop off up top and is not too high at idle?
