A few weeks ago one of my high beam bulbs burnt out. I have an '09 328i x drive Coupe, E92. It has Xenon HID's with adaptive headlights.
I did some research and was confused as different sources told me different bulbs. One of the tech's at Bav Auto and a guy on another forum told me I needed a DS-1 Xenon bulb.
Then I noticed the other high beam (inner bulbs) had burnt out.
Got the bulb, opened the hood and popped off the access lid for the inner bulbs, and saw they were H8 Halogen bulbs.
So I went to the parts store, got a couple Phillips H8 bulbs, made in Germany and look just like the stock bulbs I took out. Put them in and still no high beams when I flip the stalk. Neither of them work.
If it's not the bulbs, could it be a relay or control module ?
For me it was the ballast on my e92 328i for xenon headlights. I changed the ballast and now i can hear like a click noise when i turn on the high beams and turn them off. I can physically see the inner metal flap moving when i push the stalk .
Did you check the fuses already?
