I have a leak right under the remote tank, in the boot,it’s from a pipe inside the flexi plastic trunking under spare wheel well, I can’t get the flexi trunking off,as have no ramp, so,I tried filling up the tank in the engine bay, through the breather hole (no biggie) however, the main pump body seems to be leaking. So,does this tank only have a small amount in at any one time, as the leak suggests I may be ‘flooding’ the pump....if not, are these pumps shared with other BM’s ? Cheers....Joel.

A year make and model would help us help you, along with pictures and as best of a description you can provide. Also what tank exactly are you referring to? Like I said, any pictures would help immensely!
Aye,it’s a 97 840CI ...this is the pump/tank in question...

Hey Joel, nice to see you around,
I changed all these pumps a few years ago (3 or 4), you can get after market ones, but I had them all from the dealer, not bad price as I remember.

Those pumps are cheap and easy to get hold of. The aftermarket ones work fine (I replaced mine with an aftermarket one a little while ago).
Joel - this sounds like the same issue I have.
The rear leak you described is most likely just from the overflow tube when the rear tank is full - the exact same thing I found on mine last weekend.
It would also pay to get access to the rear pump to check it's not also leaking, and if it's dry you can test it with 12V across the two pins, supplied from your nearest battery. My rear pump works fine and is not leaking - the 'leaking' fluid is from the overflow tube.
The front fluid leak will be the pump body and/or the tank grommet, which will continue to leak if your rear pump is doing its job by transferring fluid to the forward tank.
Replace both these items (fwd pump & grommet) at the same time, and you'll be sorted - they're common parts found across a range of models, so should be readily available.
I'm going to do the same with mine - new fwd pump and grommet - as it's leaking again now, four days after I fiddled with it and applied some vaseline.

Cheers,Kiwi, it ain’t leaking from the overflow as I have pulled that out, it’s leaking as soon as I poor water into the dry tank....need to get that bloody flexi trunking off really, bet it’s something and nothing, but yes the pump under the bonnet needs replacing..and the grommet...cheers for the help....

In that case it will probably be the Item 17 Grommet that's leaking.
