    '98 740il Shift Knob

    My burlwood shift knob is flaking off. I bought a replacement on Ebay which came in today but I notice the shaft is plastic. I haven't removed my existing one yet but I assumed the shaft would be metal in which case using a plastic shaft would not seem to make sense.

    Anyone able to comment and if I need a metal shaft suggestions on where to look?

    No such thing as a metal shaft for the shift knob.
