Only rust I can find is a few small bubbles under the driver’s side taillight

E36 M3 Steering Wheel
Bad:
After the valves were adjusted this week, it was discovered that the car was making a rattling sound from the bottom end. According to mechanic: car needs main / rod bearings, which can be done with engine in place. Estimate for him to do it was $3,400 -- mostly labor. Only makes the sounds off-idle, but is not being driven over 1,500 RPM until this is repaired. Video of noise available.
