Replaced the belts, tensioner pulleys and fan clutch today. Fired her up and after a while this crazy grinding noise started. Shut it down and saw the water pump pulley was grinding and the back lip was almost shaved off. The belt had hoped over a groove on the pulley and the belt wasn't centered on the tensioner pulley. I know the water pump pulley is plastic (thank you BMW) and I was wondering if the new belts being more taught had this effect or it just wore out. Long story short, just ordered a new billet aluminum water pulley and a new Stewart water pump. There goes my relaxing weekend!!
