One of my keys does not trunk when I manually try to. Remote isn't working due to a wiring problem I have yet to fix. Any ideas?
Did you turn the key a full 90 degrees? CCW I believe.
Please restate you problem. I have no idea what it is.

Oops, let me re-state. One of my car keys does not open the trunk when I use it manually to unlock the trunk. I turn it 90* to the left. It is not a valet key. Any ideas?
Bttt
Ummm... don't use that key? Use the one that works? Get a new key?
Well yeah but why doesn't it work. Has anyone had a key that gets worn down?
Does the key that doesn't unlock the trunk have a gray head...or does it have a black head? And does the same thing happen when you try to lock/unlock the glovebox? Is the key that locks/unlocks the trunk the only one that will lock/unlock the glovebox?
Are both the keys remote keys? When you hold them up side-to-side...do they have the same cut? Without a pic...the more details you can give, the better we can respond. We can't see the keys nor see how they are being used other than the words you provide us.
Have you tried adjusting the depth of insertion for the key that seems to not be working (perhaps there is some "wear"?

I only have two keys for this car. Would alternate keys to keep the battery charged. Both are black and both would unlock the trunk. I have tried to adjust the depth of insertion to see if that helped but no luck. How expensive are new keys?
The button above the license plate does not work either?
Wise-ass.
You can get cheapo "empty" key blanks from teh innerwebz, although normally the issue is always getting the immob chip / guts and pairing those with the car. In a case like this, if its purely the key cut that has worn, you could get one of those keys cut to match the good key (and a real proper top notch key guy can make the new key BETTER than either one of your old ones because he'll measure the old one, characterize it properly, and then cut the new one to the right tumbler specs, and NOT just traced to the worn profile like they do at a hardware store...) then transfer the guts of your not working key into the new copy. Should be all good after that.
But another option... There's also a member who makes key copies for people at a much better rate than the dealer option - lookup RocketSturgeon - no affiliation etc. etc. but people seem very happy w his work, he's been solid dude on the forums for ages. Again this would be an easier job for him as you wouldn't have to send your EWS for programming which is the usual way to add a truly new key... You just want this key rehabbed physically.

It hasn't been made clear if the trunk is the only lock cylinder that doesn't operate with both keys. So, if both keys work in the glovebox, ignition, and driver's door lock cylinder...and the trunk is the only lock cylinder that doesn't operate with both keys...is the problem the keys or the trunk lock cylinder?
If the trunk is the isolated non-working location...have you tried lubricating the trunk lock cylinder? They do need to be maintained every-now-and-then. For metal-on-metal friction/contact...I routinely maintain all lock cylinders annually (winterize) with a product called Tri-Flow...it contains TEFLON.

I have lubricated the lock with graphite and it didn't help at all. And yes, both keys work in all the other locations. I will try to contact asks for that suggestion.
