Lavender - green wire w yellow dots behind glove box e36

Anyone know what this singular wired plug is for? Only thing I can think of is for the parking distance control sensor, which I don't have like all US e36s...wire is about 8" long from bundle and sits closer to center of car. Thanks.

Does your e brake light on the cluster illuminate when you apply your e brake?

pics? There are so many wires located there going to anywhere, it's hard to single out one particular wire.

The only single loose wire in that area is the alarm hood pin wire.

That’s not factory, but normally that wire is alarm related. Hoodswitch (and) radio switch.

Folkert, it looks pretty stock to me down to the dried out fabric..tape. I've been in this area before many times on our other e36s, but I never noticed this plug before. Then again I never disconnected the whole assembly mass so our other e36s could have them too. Rich, I was installing a mass of wires through the battery terminal hole to accommodate proper gauges.

I'm still in love with the platform after so many decades...too bad no one makes replacement door panels. I think that is what many of us need eventually.

I read a DIY where the guy said he used epoxy to fix the door panels. (assuming it's just the cardboard structure that needs repair) I just used some on mine (some of the slots that receive the clips at the top of the door were cracked, nothing too major), it seems like a good repair, but time will tell.

I've had success with liquid nails but similar stuff to epoxy. Thanks for replying my thread..
