1985 325e Plans
Hey Y'all,
I'm the proud owner of a 1995 E36 325i, but since it's my daily I need to get a project car. I was surfing Craigslist and found an E30 325e for pretty cheap. It has the M20B27 and an automatic trans, but that's not what I plan to keep in it. My plans, depending on which route I want to take, go a little like this-
Route #1 -"330i"
This is the most basic and cheapest route, and it involves an S52B32 swap with a turbo slapped on for good measure. Of course a 5-speed ZF trans and upgraded third member assembly will be used. I will do more research on what I will have to "bolt in" to make this thing handle upwards of 400 HP. (If not 500) This one will probably be the easiest route to go.
Route #2 - "340i"
It's simple. M62B44 swap. (It's not simple.)
Route #3 - "360i"
Here's the one that would take a few years, and around $40-50K. How about a 550hp, supercharged 6.2L LSA motor out of a CTS-V? Paired with a T-56 Super Magnum 6-speed and I have no idea what rear-end, this one will be the most impressive and sleeper-ish. The coolest thing about it is I'd take the engine cover off a CTS-V and replace the Caddy logo with a BMW logo, just to rustle the jimmies of all the GM guys out there.
So which route do y'all think I should go? I already have my favourite one but it'd take years to pull off.
Have a good day, y'all!
Yours in Automotive Technologies,
Johnny Redline
