Hey everyone,
I am picking up a '98 528i with a manual transmission, and I really want to go ahead and refresh the bushings. I got spoiled by all new bushings in my e30 and e36's and want to just go ahead and replace everything all in one go when I pick the car up. I believe the trans is the same ZF found in the 328's and m3, so can I use the same bushings? I feel like there are more options then OEM for those cars then what I am seeing for the e39's.
Thanks in advance.
Yes. I’ve done both.

killer. I'm trying to not just buy parts that don't work this time (building a turbo 24v e30 at the moment, so doing a lot of that as is).
Ok, so a few more questions along the same lines...Did some searching, and I havn't been able to find my question asked thus far (doesn't mean it hasn't been, just that I didn't word my search right). Can I also use a DSSR listed for an e36 as well as the typical z3 shifter upgrade? Again, searched google and didn't come up with anything I deemed useful...
I believe the z3 shifter won’t work in the e39 I feel like I found a thread a while back stating that while I was researching what shifter to go with for my manual swap but the popular shifter seems to be the 545i sport shifter
Use your VIN in realoem.com to determine you cars part numbers, then compare to the late model E36 328/M3
Then look for aftermarket parts for E36 as you indicated

from all the reading I have done this week, definitely sounds like the e60 shifter is the way to go. Bushings appear to be the same, just the cant of the shifter looks to be different.
