Legion,
As some of you read, I recently removed the input half of my brake system and am looking for some clarification/verification. The original early style brake pressure regulator had two inputs and two outputs, which I've illustrated (poorly) below.

I will be updating to the single input/output type that the later cars used and just want to double check the routing. I know it seems obvious, but better safe and asking silly questions than.... well anything else really when it comes to brakes.

Additionally if someone could take a quick picture of how the regulator is mounted it would be appreciated, as the early one is very different. Thank you for your time.

I included the three brake lines in the image. The proportion valve is mounted on a tab that sticks out from the fender inside, and the tab has a hole in it, for bolt to go through and into the proportion valve. This is my '83 parts car. They are all the same, '81, '82, '83. My only complete car is the '81. Both '82 and '83 are shells, parts cars.
Line to the rear drums goes out the back, bends down sharply near the firewall.

Perfect! Thank you sir. You car has the two holes in the inner fender where the old style bolts through right next to the bracket. Do you know if the valves orientation is important?
no I don't think so, as far as the orientation. Getting the input and output connections correct is critical because it is a pressure reducer. But I think you could mount it upside down if you wanted to. It is marked with an arrow, or at least mine is. So arrow points in direction of the output, flow towards the drums.
1980 is the same, three lines, and the front calipers hard lines both go thru the wheel well side wall and have a rubber piece-Grommet covering the hole.
Front left caliper feed line is on the bottom, right on the side from the driver seat right and left for easier plumbing the hard brake lines.
BMW 34321102417,, $7 each--wow thats an expensive rubber Grommet..
