    CCFL Rings

I know it’s been talked about in a few posts, but not quite the information I needed. Some people were saying they just bought the rings off ebay but weren’t too specific. Looking to try this mod, and just wondering if theres a brand that people recommend, as well as what diameters they went with (I know of the 90mm). And I’m guessing one inverter per set?

I've seen a few different sizes used; depending on the exact, look other lighting mods etc. When doing mods like this I usually suggest opening up the headlights and measuring which sizes will fit best for your exact application. If you're going to crack open the headlights, I'd suggest using a quality angel eye ring like the ones from Morimoto; they come in 60mm, 70mm, 80mm, 90mm, 100mm, 110mm, 120mm and a massive 155mm. HERE is a link to them on our site.

I did this modification to my EURO headlights years ago. If I remember correctly it used a 70mm and a 90mm ring total of 4 inverters).

Here is a pic before I did the final headlight assembly adjustment:

It looks 1000 times better in person, plus it is really bright at night - you could almost just drive with only the angel eyes on.

Ya I was looking at some of the posts Duje had made, and saw your pictures of the mod. So you chose to go down to a 70 for the inner projectors? or was the size of the projector smaller?
I've got some euro specs en route to me at the moment, so I dont have anything to measure.
    Looks great though!

The inner projectors are smaller, that's why I got them. The larger one can't really be mounted to the projector. Please note that this will only work with EURO light assemblies. If you have the US Spec headlights, it cannot be done.

Ya I've got a set of EUROs headed to me this week. So I guess with Duje's 8, he stuck with the 90mm for all four? from the looks of it in this thread, https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...angel-eyes-mod

I'm guessing you got a better "fitment" on the projector with the 70mm though.

The reason I used the smaller ring on the inboard projectors is because the high beam reflector will cut off part of the CCFL ring, so you won't have a complete circle.

Oh that would've been a surprise when trying to install them. I think that's about all the questions I have...for now haha. But thanks for all the info man!
