E39 Touring - Gray Interior, Durham NC / Black Interior - Charleston, SC
I did a tour of a few junkyards in SC and NC this weekend and stopped at a self service junkyard in NC - Durham, LKQ Self Serve. Silver on Gray 2001 525i. Not rusty at all, seemed like a nice car. The hatch had the two spots opposite of the plate were a minuscule amt of paint is gone to bare metal. Common I guess - my wagon, has same thing. Seats were gone but panels were still there. Hood was littered with hail dents. It was a sport package car.
Then I found a 99 528i touring, black on black - with a BAKED interior. Exterior and interior were rough. Took a hard front hit. All the panels in the rear were there except the large piece on the hatch with the tools. The window surround trim was there. Think someone here was looking for black interior for the rear of a wagon right? Had shadowline trim, but it was so dull and faded didn't think worth the effort. This car's at Don's Car Crushing in Ladson, SC (near Charleston). Hatch on this one didn't even have a hint of rust anywhere on it. Just baked, faded paint.
Hunt goes on for a replacement Titan Silver Metallic hood and driver fender.
