Hi all,
I'm after some help from someone more knowledgeable on this matter than myself, crazy right? haha
On the E39 there is a seal that runs around the vehicle body & then there is also an edge on the glass sunroof panel.
Is the edge of the sunroof a trim that is removable? If so how & what is the part number.
It appears some bugs or critter has had a nibble at it.
Some terrible pictures of my dirty little...
All help is greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Now I can not be 100% sure but realoem shows it as being replaceable and is part number 54107245551
And ECS tuning has a review from someone replacing it.
Check out the pictures here to see if it looks the same. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...l/54107245551/
Also of note is that realoem shows a different part number for steel or glass roof but both update to the same part number when looked at for exchangebility.
for steel panel http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/part...&q=54107245551 - ends up superseded by 54137117551
for glass panel http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/part...&q=54128169710 - ends up superseded by 54137117551
and then 54137117551 gets superseded by 54107245551.
I would just check the pictures to ensure the gasket has the same design to it compared to the one on your car.

What you are linking appears to be what goes on the vehicle body of a steel top if I'm not mistakne and not the actual glass panel, I feel like it's not replaceable.
I had it popped and can't find a seam on it at all, I may be blind though. The glass surround is incredibly firm though and I don't want to mess with it to much in case it leads to a junkyard replacement.
I might have to clean it all up and do a small repair with sikaflex and lots of tape to not make a mess.
Thanks for the help.
Cheers

Edit:
On further inspection that is part of the glass trim molding/casting, a part of the sunroof. So that will need a repair of sorts.
I have also ordered 54128169710 (flocked) to replace mine on the body.
