Anyone have any experience with these ebay rebuild kits? They include the pistons which I have not seen from any brand. There is no markings or brand name on their listing.

I am looking into this because the calipers are not looking too healthy since the car sat for years before I got it. Just preventative.

Never heard of this company, but they claim: Bigg Red – Brake Caliper Reman & Coating Specialist, the leading UK Brake Caliper Remanufacturing and Component Specialist, with over 100,000 caliper components in stock. http://www.biggred.co.uk/
looks good, price is fine, maybe you give it a try.

I think the price is okay. You can get the rubber bits for cheap. As for the pistons, you can get them for about $22 each. So I would say a fair price for convenience versus buying pistons and kits separate. The problem I ran into is corrosion on the side of the caliper too. I had a thread a while back with pics of the crap I found inside, it was bad. But I polished everything up and used a Dremel inside the calipers to clean them. With new rubber bits, no issues every since I rebuilt em.

I may give this a try. My mechanic seemed to have fix that bleeding issue while the car was in for suspension work, he kind of just said "oh I fixed your brakes btw" lol, no charge. He did mention that the right front was braking harder than the rest and you could see it too. Afraid of rusted or pitted pistons so I will look into these when I get the car back. I saw Johan and Seans page on this but they had a lathe to put the pistons in and polish with sand paper. I dont have that.
Thank you both.

Have you thought of just getting remanufactured calipers? My bleeder screws broke off on both my front calipers and I got remanned units from Rockauto for less than 100 bucks.

Are you sure? Usually the rebuilds are sold as one of two brands. ATE or Bendix. Best to match to what you have.
For example, this is an ATE actually.

yes, Rockauto. If you bring up that example above, the caliper says ATE.

I have asked the chaps on the U.K. forum with regards to that company in U.K., reply: Erich, I used one of their kits on my offside front caliper about 18 months ago. it has been fine since. I replaced the nearside prior to that by buying an exchange caliper through our local motor factors. The rebuild kit was was about a third the price of the exchange kit. Only difficulty i experienced was fitting the new dust seal in, that was awkward. I would be happy to use them again.
