On the e46 '04 325ci, where is the light sentential? I have the light switch set on the "auto lights" setting, but it seems that every time day or night the headlights are on...I have looked in the owners manual, and did not see anything as to were the sentential is located. In the other cars it is on the dash, and very visible. so where is it on the e46?
Are you talking about the light sensor?
It is located on the LCM or where your light switch is. Just look for the clear looking small led that never lights up.

Which lights are always on? The inner or outer?
Sounds like your LCM may be bad. It's not uncommon.
I don't know if it's related, but you may also want to check your cowl seal. I had an issue with my LCM not working properly, I considered replacing it, parked it in the garage for a month and the lights started working again. My cowl seal piece was horrible. I put a new one on and haven't had an issue since. Only thing I can think of is that water was somehow getting behind the dash and messing with the LCM, and it dried out while it was in the garage. Still works fine now that the cowl seal is replaced.
Press your miles reset button for 8 seconds....and watch your dash. It will reference YOU as a BMW mechanic and direct YOU!
