18" M Parallel Style Wheels - Offset Clarification

    Hi,

I really like the Wheel/Tire/Lowering setup on this Clarion Builds 850
    http://www.speedhunters.com/2017/09/...lds-bmw-850ci/

In researching the setup I came across 2 sets of Staggered M Parallel wheels with different offsets. According to ECS the version with ET13 FR, ET25 RR (same set as Clarion is running) will not fit my 97 840Ci! instead I'm being told to get the more expensive ET20 FR / ET22 RR variation. Can someone please clarify if the Clarion setup requires spacers or any additional modication? There is no mention of it in that article.

    Thank you!

The correct offset is 13/25. The wheels do not require spacers. See RealOEM for reference: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=36_1612

The 20/22 offset is for the E34 M5.

As listed in my link and Coupenut's link, 20/22 is for the E34 M5. 13/25 is for the E38 and E31.

Also, the staggered widths are different. E34's and E39's used 9" rear wheels, while E31's and E38's used 9.5" rear wheels (all of this is straight from RealOEM).

I'd just like to note that I really don't appreciate the forum redirecting useful links to completely useless "viglinks shopping" and a bunch of unrelated results -- in this case, a pile of breather connectors for other models, radiator fans, and pretty much anything OTHER than the wheel set which was directly and properly linked by the OP. I understand shameless profiteering to pay for bandwidth, but when it reaches the point that we cannot even reach (or point others to) the site we desire, I check out. I find this incredibly irritating.

Pardon the thread drift, but how do we post links that will actually take us to the website we are linking? Can we scrub this "functionality" when we are posting, so others are not likewise misdirected?

    Cheers, John

EDIT: I see now, buried on the "Viglink Shopping" page, there is a "Skip these deals and go to..." link. At least that's something, but I still hate the confusion and hassle this causes. If I buy an airline ticket direct from Dallas to Chicago, should I have to tell the pilot after takeoff that I'm not interested in visiting Beijing?

I bought a set of new wheels from a BMW shop last month for my car once its running, 8.5x18 et15 and 9.5x18 et25. I would like to use some 245 or 255 on the front and a 285 on the rear. Looks like they should clear based on tire sizes on car in article.

Thanks you all, ECS definitely got it wrong then, that's what caused the confusion in the first place.

Sort of......because according to BMW (realoem), the M-Parallel’s are only listed as suitable for Euro CSi only and are not listed for use with any other 8 model.
