Wood To Plastic Dash Trim Compatibility

    Hi guys,

I want to test some Woodgrain Water Transfer Prints but I prefer not do it over the wood trim that already comes with the car.

    Here's my current console

I've noticed that the plastic variations of these trims are still available, but I'm not sure if they are a perfect fit. Has anyone tried to swap theirs, and if yes is it a direct fit or does it require modification?

These are the plastic pieces I'm looking at:

    Plastic Center Console Cover

    Plastic Center Console Insert

Plastic Center Console Cover - Rear
    https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...r/51161970597/

    Thanks!

I’ve swapped those parts out (IIRC all 3) and they were direct fit. However, that last one says backordered, which a lot of times with ECS means NLA.

    Thank you.

Did you have to buy the switch covers as pictured here?
    http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=51_2746

On my wood trim there are 4 switches (2 on each side)

Switch Cover With 2 Holes (#17 on above diagram)
    Right Cover - https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...t/51168124122/
    Left Cover - https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...t/51168124115/

Switch Cover With 3 Holes: (#18 on above diagram) - Visually I like 3 holes on each side. Is it possible to use this and cover the empty slots with plastic caps?

Do you know the part number for the switch plastic caps? I can't find that in the diagram. On my wood trim (right side) one of the switches is not being used and has a plastic cap instead, that's what I'm referring to.

I guess you could use #15 to close up one side, but i know what you are talking about, i used to have it on my original console but cant see it in the diagram.
also dont see it on the right side of your console.

Yes, they are easily swappable, and I have what you want. I am open to trading.

Per BMW 51161970597 is just on backorder currently, they have not raised the NLA flag at this time.
