Not much i3 discussion. How about wider tires?

Seriously considering buying an i3. Test drove a used one that is for sale in my area.

One question I have is can any other BMW rims be fitted to it? 5 in wide is quite Narrow and I'm not a fan of 19" and 20" dia. Also thinking the ride might improve with smaller dia rims and more rubber. But the rear control arms and shallow wheel wells did make it look like others won't fit. Anyone tried?
