    Walbro 450 install ?

Anyone install one in a Z3 carrier? The bottom bells out to a bigger diameter, so im thinking the bottom bit of plastic on the carrier would need to be cut off.

Yes i have one fitted. You have the right idea. The housing needed cutting back to mount to pump high enough to clear fouling the fuel tank.

You will need to put a 20A fuse in. Wiring is ok for that.

I'll be damned; looked up the wire size in the ETM and it says 2.5 (mm) which equates to 0.0984252"

They sure look like 16 or 18 ga to me...

There are 2 wires at the connector that are 16 or 18ga but I think they go to the fuel level sender?

Those are__according to the ETM__.5 (mm) which is 0.019685, which isn't even on that scale, though they're probably on the order of 20-24 ga.

You have to understand, I spent more than three (>3) decades playing with wires, sized anywhere from 500 MCM/15KV rated down to 24 ga/4-20Ma. I approach them today with a yeah, that'll work go or no go approach...

You're not following; 2.5 mm for fuel pump feed & .5 mm for level sensor.

Anyone else ever regret adding a post to a thread?

Hahaha! I understood what you were saying, but it was written out a bit strange. Not to worry, I speak fluent forumish.

    What Randy is saying is:

    1. The fuel pump wiring is 2.5mm/0.0984in (as per the ETM), which means it's somewhere in the order of 10-11 gauge wiring.

    2. The fuel level sensor wiring is .5mm/0.0197in (as per the ETM), which means it's not listed on the chart...but probably in the order of 20-24 gauge wiring.

...gas or E85? You may need a booster, and at the very least an adjustable FPR if you're going corn juice.

https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...-L33-twin-6262 link to my build. Yeah its a bit much for power i know, my last car made 625whp from a 4cly @ 37psi (S14 240sx) so i know what that power can do. I would like to make that power on pump we don't have E85 here unfortunately. Worst case ill add water meth.
