Amp input rated to 2.5V, can I use a 4V head unit?

I have an older Aura 3005 amp, with input sensitivity rated at 150mV - 2.5V. Input impedance is 10kOhms.

Can I use a new head unit with 4V output, or should I stick with a 2.5V unit?

Sending that amp signals as high as 4 volts can result in extreme distortion and potentially damage to the amp. You could use line out converters.
