Need help Removing Hydraulic Tensioner Pulley

Everything was going great til i tried to remove the hydraulic tensioner pulley on my 99 e46. it wouldn't budge so i grabbed my breaker bar and T-50 and tried to turn it counter clockwise. the T-50 broke! So am i turning it the wrong way or what?

Also, i am trying to replace it with a mechanical one. i removed the long bolt first out of the mounting. It won't thread back in which is weird. Any thoughts on what i should do? I'm hoping if i can just get the pulley off, i can reach the bolt that is behind it, and take the whole thing off.

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

No, you turned the torx bolt correctly. Try pulling the bolts out while loosening then.
