All,
In searching the ECS catalog, I came across two brands I had not heard of: MTC and Vaico. I am looking for some feedback on quality. Some are waaay cheaper than either BMW/OEM or Bosch. Several brands I stay away from: Uro, CRP...so i don't know whether to include them in this category.
So what's the word gang?

I've purchased both brands, more MTC but they were intake boots and other non stress parts as well as vaico. My gas door hinge is Vaico but I just bought it, time will tell...
So my point is, they are good but would not trust those brands for essential mechanical parts such as suspension, engine mounts, etc... There is always Meyle, Febi, Mahle, Rein and most European made parts that I would go with first. Cant think of the other Euro brands.
Also check out FCPEuro.com they have a fantastic catalog of parts as well, more than BavAuto and Autohausaz.

VEMO, VAICO and ACKOJAP belong to Vierol group http://www.vierol.de/en/ in Germany , http://vaico.de/?lang=en , one of the larger OE aftermarket suppliers from Germany. Lower price range, almost every online shop in Germany has their products.
MTC info, scroll down here https://www.fcpeuro.com/MTC-parts/
Both brands are offered by most of the larger online shops like FCP, Pelican, partstrain, Advance, ECS, eeuroparts. etc pp. as an alternative low cost product.
My Personal experience: in my M3 I have since some months a VAICO water pump installed, a MTC aux fan is working since years in my 750, so far no complain.
Of course if you search the net you find as usual positive or negative comments, so you get what you pay for basically. Low cost alternatives.

Thanks guys for the feedback
I guess the key to the selection problem: Don't save a buck if the part is critical or life threatening; Don't save a buck if re-doing it is a hassle or requires lots of disassembly.
Serge-I'll be down your way come January...
No problem. I try to keep it European parts as much as I can unless the price gap is huge and not a critical piece.
Let me know when you come down here, im in need of a good coffee

I bought an MTC intake boot for my 535i, and it was full of cracks within 6 months. It fit well, but was made out of poor materials.
