Hello knowledgeable members!
I have a 97 528i that has a saddle brown interior, I may be parting out the car...however there is a criminal lack of information on this interior. I was wondering how many of these early cars were optioned with this, and have no idea what to ask for if I decided to send it to a new home, please help me out!
Is it similar to the saddle brown of the early E32?
If you enter the last 7 digits of the car's VIN in one of the VIN decoders...you should be able to get the interior's option code. That can go a long way in finding out if it's original or changed by a previous owner.
What's the last 7 digits of the VIN?

Have you checked your VIN on a decoder? The only colors for '97 were vinyl K4SN Beige, and leather N6SN Sand Beige, according to my sales brochure.

^^^ Great minds....
Perhaps its an "Individual Pkg"...if that's the case...then the color palette could be anything.

Was the Individual program offered on early E39s, or has it been active even on earlier models?

Since the OP is in Canada...the car would have been imported by BMW of Canada...which means they could have access to options we didn't...like the M-sport pkg we got in 03...they got in 2001.
The VIN information would provide a lot of insight and point us in a better direction instead of throwing darts at the board.
Or a previous owner could have swapped in an M5 interior (pics would resolve that possibility).

Are you going to part it out?? I would be interested.
Sorry for the late reply and thank you for the replies, northern Thanksgiving is in full swing!
The car does not have a M5 interior swap, as I have an M5 and miss those seats dearly when driving this 528 lol.
However the seats are original as per the build sheet from bmwvindecoder.com, it lists the option as " Satin braun". If I knew had to upload a picture I would but, this link should give you guys an idea.

The seats themselves are comfort seats, so no extra bolstering or thigh support ( ), power adjustable for both passenger and driver, heated, and memory for the driver's seat. The car also came with a two tone interior, tan headliner and floor mats, with black dash and door cards, minus that saddle brown leather insert.

I am thinking about parting the car, it developed a high idle that I am furiously chasing down, but I need a car for work soon, and I have some ideas about an E38 7.
Well, if I get a decent amount as an offer for the interior I'd be willing to let it go into a swap 😂
Bump, no else has seen this interior?
Well lol I'd love to post pictures but I'd don't know how
That's a nice interior, I've seen a few for sale here (Sweden) but they are not common.
Das leg, do you have any idea what this interior sold for in Sweden? I haven't seen it anywhere around here (north america) :/
