E60 M5 Buying Advice Needed

Hi. I am new to the car enthusiast world but have done a decent amount of research into what cars to look at and have decided on the E60 M5. Do you guys have any advice on what to look for while in pursuit of purchasing this vehicle?

Expensive potential issues with rod bearings and SMG. Throttle actuators are a minor cost in comparison. Nice car, though, if you can find one with work already done or get an extended warranty or can DIY complex projects.

Hello and welcome to the forum! As the above member stated, they tend to have quite a bit of expensive repairs. My understanding is that the issues start at around the 60k marker.
