Hi,
I'm about to buy some 17' Alpina (replica) wheels for my E36 316 Coupe.
Fitting these wheels on this type of car will make it look a bit off imo. So I'm looking for some lowering springs to lower it to its original height, or a bit lower if possible.
Now I realy dont want the car to start rubbing or screw up the driving comfort by lowering it too much.
I see that alot of vendors produce the 40/30 cm (1.5/1.1 inches) springs for this type of car. Will this work with the 17inch wheels?
suggestions/experiences/pictures are appreciated .

I don't think that you're going to have any issues with the 17s and an inch drop - what size tires are you planning on putting on? Take a look at the link below to get a better understanding of wheel fitment and spacing/offset.

Thanks for the input!
I looked through the guide, there is alot more to it than meets the eye for sure!
The rims come with a as good as new set of tires. The dimensions are 225/45.
The rims have the following specs; 7/5 j ET 38.
I don´t have alot to compare with but I guess this is pretty standard for a 17 inch wheel?

17” E36 wheels run from ET 35 to ET 41 in 7” up to 8.5” wide.
You should have no problems with 225/45-17 tires on 7.5” rims, with the backspace mentioned.
