I just bought a 2001 Z3M (s54). Previous owner did not have much info, but owner before him performed turner tune on the car. I noticed that on carfax report the car failed emission few times. All times it failed it was brought back to a dealer for computer reset. After that it would pass emission. Is there something that I can do myself before I bring it in for emission test? I presume if car came with programmable chip, I can load some factory map, and then upload original tuned map? I have never done this, but work with technology everyday. Any tips on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

Have somebody check the monitors readiness status, if there set your good
If you don't have a CE light and you have been driving the car, then it should pass. The emissions testing "equipment" should be looking for the systems "ready" codes set in ECU.
If you don't have aftermarket vendor hardware to revert back to "factory flash" then the Dealer is going to be your next best source for "factory flash". But if you have been driving it with no CE light then you should be good. You could use Peake Tool, INPA, or other code reader (local auto parts store) to look for error codes.

Just read the freaking monitors and go from there, it's pretty simple
Thank you all. Considering that I just redlined at the redline mark, my turner tune is probably not loaded. Car did include shark injector. So, I guess I will hold off until I inspect the car before loading it.

Scroll down and enter your vehicle info and read up on Shark Injector for your vehicle. I think you have an S54 which has a 7900 RPM limit, which can be bumped to 8100 RPM. But it looks like there are options to stay with stock redline.
