I've read multiple posts about this from around 2012 and 2014 and thought that surely it had been fixed by now. Well apparently not. Bought a set of Bosch wiper blades and the passenger side one doesn't fit because of the offset of the wiper arm. Only half the wiper blade contacts the windshield.
Is the only fix really to file off some of the blade frame? Where can I buy the correct set because these are the same ones they sell at the dealer so I don't see those being any different.
You can either buy just the inserts (have done this several times), or buy the wiper assembly (minus the actual arm) from BMW. If you can't find the inserts, just take them out of a new set of blades...

I've bought genuine bmw wiper arms and blades from my local bmw dealer last year, and the passenger blade still needs to be filed down so it will sit flat on the glass, same issue as the old ones that were already on the car.
I've found I can get the inserts from one of my wholesellers. $3 a piece haha. Luckily the blades on it fit so I'm gonna swap them out
E39 rubber inserts are the ones that BMW supply for the E31.

I like the wiper arm cut and flip mod. The new one piece silicone wipers last much longer. Not reversible though, but no real downside.
What "thumbs up" really means
I got tired of the wiper game, and they are unsightly anyway, so I took them off. I don't drive Eva in the rain, and RainX is my friend.
